EURO 2008 WINNER IS SPAIN

Spain became European champions for the second time after Fernando Torres's first-half goal in Vienna proved enough to defeat Germany in the final of UEFA EURO 2008™.

History an inspiration
Spain had won their only previous piece of silverware in this competition in 1964 and had not been beyond the quarter-finals of any tournament in 24 years, yet Luis Aragonés's men chose to use that history as an inspiration rather than a burden. After a strong start from Germany, seeking a fourth title themselves, Spain were the more dangerous side throughout an entertaining final at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion although it took just one goal – in the 33rd minute, courtesy of Torres's pace, perseverance and unerring finish – to end their long wait.

Ballack boost
Germany received a significant boost before kick-off with captain Michael Ballack included despite a much-publicised calf problem, and, perhaps buoyed by that news, Joachim Löw's team settled quickly. Much had been made of the contrast in style between the sides yet in the opening exchanges it was Germany whose passing looked crisper, Miroslav Klose and Thomas Hitzlsperger failing to make the most of glimpses of goal. Meanwhile Spain, shorn of four-goal leading scorer David Villa due to a thigh injury, struggled to find their feet in a new 4-5-1 formation in which Cesc Fàbregas was rewarded for a fine semi-final display with a starting place.

Instinctive stop
As an indicator of the pattern of the match, however, Germany's bright beginning proved misleading. Spain soon worked their way into the contest, with Germany goalkeeper Jens Lehmann – becoming, at 38, the oldest player to appear in a UEFA European Championship final – forced into action for the first time in the 14th minute. Although his instinctive save came when his own defender, Christoph Metzelder, inadvertently deflected Andrés Iniesta's cross towards his own goal, Xavi Hernández's fine through pass had unpicked the Germany defence and showed the Spanish were finding their feet.

Torres on target
Right-back Sergio Ramos was then allowed to cut inside and deliver a deep cross, Torres peeling away from Per Mertesacker to create space for the header only for the right-hand post to come to Lehmann's rescue. The warning signs were there for Germany, yet they failed to heed them and duly fell behind three minutes past the half-hour. Again Xavi was the architect, playing a pass in behind the Germany back line towards Torres, who outmuscled a hesitant Philipp Lahm and clipped the ball over the diving Lehmann and just inside the far post. David Silva then volleyed over Iniesta's cross when given time and space inside the area as Spain threatened to increase their lead.

Spain openings
Spain had more openings in the early stages of the second half, Lehmann getting the merest of touches to Xavi's low shot before Ramos nearly guided in Silva's drive from the resulting corner. Yet a hint of the threat Germany still posed arrived on the hour, substitute Marcell Jansen and Bastian Schweinsteiger combining for Ballack to shoot centimetres wide. Klose then deflected a Schweinsteiger effort past the post and, in response to Germany's renewed menace, Spain coach Aragonés promptly introduced Xabi Alonso and Santi Cazorla in place of Fàbregas and Silva. The switches reinvigorated Spain instantly, Lehmann making smart stops from Ramos and Iniesta while Torsten Frings blocked another Iniesta effort on the line.

Celebrations
As the final moved into the last 20 minutes, Spain had had seven shots on goal to Germany's one, but with the Mannschaft having turned virtually one in two of their attempts on target into goals en route to the final, that would have been scant consolation to Aragonés and his side. In the event, however, it was Spain who continued to carve out chances as the match reached its conclusion, Marcos Senna narrowly failing to apply the finishing touch to an unselfish header from substitute Daniel Güiza – but the celebrations would not be delayed much longer.

KAMAL'S COMMENTS ON DASAVATHAARAM RELEASE

As Dasavatharam is in the process of gathering overwhelming responses –good, middling and bad – everywhere, Kamal Haasan has begun opening up on Dasavatharam, post release:
On the criticism levelled by some regarding the film’s “confusing narrative”:
“Criticism will always be there. In fact, I myself am the biggest critic of all my films. ‘Dasavatharam’ is based on the ‘chaos theory’ and we have established it very well. I don’t know where critics found it confusing. All the 10 characters are established within 20 minutes of the film’s run. You must be very attentive. That’s all.
On the time taken to create the ten characters:
Over the years, I have observed many things, and these observations have found a place in the movie. Characters of the Balram Naidu hue cannot be etched out in a year or two. I have been observing the way Telugu people talk Tamil and vice versa. So, it is like I have been living with these characters for a long time. During ‘Hey Ram’, someone asked me how much time I had spent researching on Gandhi! Richard Attenborough may have to do his homework on Gandhi. I don’t have to. I grew up knowing Gandhi. He is part of our world. I have been reading about him and known him from my childhood.
The George Bush character:
“Bush doesn’t know many things...I didn’t want to go into all that. He said recently that the reason for rise of prices was over-eating Indians! In fact, Americans have turned rice-eaters, and they are eating more rice than us. We never eat hamburgers like them, nor beef, do we?”
Dasavatharam’s box office performance:
“This is the biggest opening I have had in my career. I have the figures; it is a blockbuster, no doubt. I thank the audience and the media for their support.”
Working with Mallika and Asin:
“Mallika’s character is not a lengthy one and I couldn’t interact much with her. I enjoyed working with Asin. It is tough to portray that character. She was required to change clothes for each scene, and the wardrobe wasn’t that colourful either. She really lived the character.”
The best thing said about Dasavatharam:
My guru K. Balachander moved me to tears with his praise, after watching the film. I did not expect such a response. My friend Rajinikanth said one should watch such movies only with the audience in the theatres.
Future projects:
My next is ‘Marmayogi’. And I hope I would get enough money to finish ‘Marudhanayagam’.

ITS JUST A UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE MOVIE

One has to understand what is meant by chaos theory and randomness. Now in simple terms, chaos in mathematical sense means a small change in the initial condition which will cause a major difference in the outcome after a particular period of time. A very good example is when a butterfly flaps its wings, the flapping of the wings represents a small change in the initial conditions of the system which can cause a chain of events, leading to large scale phenomena like tornado, etc (thanks, wikipedia).
Now, how Kamal has used this in his movie explains why he shows a small story in the 12th century. Kamal as Rangarajan Nambi is drowned into the sea along with the Lord Vishnu idol, this explains the small change to the natural system as in chaos theory. After a long period of time, this initial change causes a big tsunami at the end of the movie. This may sound very crazy but scientifically this is totally acceptable.
Lets look at the second part called randomness. Randomness is part of chaos theory. Now this is where Kamal falters big time. His screenplay, in order to explain the whole random interaction of his 10 characters lacks imagination. Kamal's idea is innovative and his aim is to bring all the random characters he portrayed into a linear script is a very challenging task and that's exactly where Kamal and his crew forgot about the script and concentrated totally on technical stuff and his makeup. Let's say this is a simple movie with just one Kamal. Even then it is a challenging task to script and with 10 Kamal characters involved, technical difficulties, make up, the crew restricted themselves to a mediocre script which in the end does not explain clearly the main intent of the movie which is about chaos and randomness. Now when the movie starts, Kamal explains this briefly but for a regular movie buff, that is not enough. He should have explained his intent more clearly.
The plot is very complicated, simply because 10 roles are done by Kamal. Now lot of people are asking why is it necessary to do 10 roles, since some of them have very little screen time. Also, there were unnecessary interactions between different characters. Unless you understand the whole movie is based on randomness, many are going to think this illogical.
The way these interactions were carried out are pretty amateurish. The script is weak here. None of the 10 get a chance to develop their character. Take the movie Babel for example and you will understand what I mean by randomness and how it connects different people living in different parts of the world with a brilliant script which won multiple awards. Again the only thing that needs to be appreciated is the boldness to carry out the challenging task of 10 roles and their interactions. Even if the end result is not satisfactory the effort needs be appreciated. But most of the times, even with great effort we have seen movies biting the dust. As far as acting is concerned, Kamal carries the whole movie and if there is any reason to watch the movie, it’s KAMAL.
Out of his ten characters, Balram Naidu is the best with fantastic dialogue delivery and next comes Fletcher as an ruthless ex-CIA officer who will do anything to get the virus (Surprisingly this character was never mentioned in any of the reviews, though Kamal as Fletcher with an American accent did a fine job). The above two characters along with Govind get most of the screen time. He has also done an excellent job with other characters but with a weak script it may go unnoticed. Other than Kamal, Asin takes most of the screen time. She starts good but later gets irritating and annoying.
Coming to the technical part of the movie, it is above average. You can see there is a lot of patch up work done in some places and graphics are adequate considering Indian standards. The final tsunami scene is not without flaws, but good enough for an Indian movie. Technically this movie is a milestone as the whole movie needs computer graphics with various character interacting. Dialogues are okay with most of the stupid ones going to George Bush. K.S. Ravikumar is not the right person for this movie. The opportunity was there but was not executed perfectly. Make up for couple of roles look odd, but with so many Kamals, its not going to be easy to come up with flawless makeup. Music is a big disappointment. Himesh is not a good fit for a Tamil movie and Devi Sri Prasad's background score was good.
Now here is the question, is this a good movie? No, its not a good movie but its not a bad one either. One can definitely watch it once for Kamal's fantastic effort. The way he has carried out his ten roles with ease will amaze you. It's not the first time we have seen Kamal disappoint us with his over hyped movies. I really do not blame the hype as it is purely generated by these news hungry media. What I find problematic is that Kamal has all the time in the world to give a movie fans what they would like but somehow finds a way to do exactly the opposite. Frankly, everyone want to like Kamal movies but he just does not get it right. I think it high time he gives up selling his atheist ideas in most of his movies. He takes a complicated subject in Dasavatharam but in the end argues about the existence of God.
In the end Asin asks Kamal 'Are you saying there is no God', for which Kamal says " I am not saying there is no god, what I am saying is if there was one, it would be good". This has been the microcosm (arguing God's existence) of most his recent movies and with his fans losing their patience, it’s high time he starts to give them something different. In Dasa, Kamal fails himself, his bad screen writing almost negates his brilliant acting.

Hidden meanings in Dasavatharam, connections of the scenes, a great masterpiece..

The 1st scene is perfectly connected to the climax, remember what Kamal says in the 1st scene, that he will not say “Om Nama Shivaya” , but Asin tells him to chant it , but still Kamal refuses , ( in this kamal in his story tries to tell that ) Nambi believes in his god more than anything, but Asin feels “Its ok if we change the god or chant other god’s name, its life thats most important.” Now if u see the climax its JUST OPPOSITE…. Kamal doesn’t believe in god much and values lives of people the most…. but Asin deeply believes in god and that too this dialogue comes when both Asin and Kamal’s hand is on the god which came from the sea , and it also means that they are getting united from the place they departed hundreds of years back ( Kamal and Asin). The connection between the 1st scene and the climax in the movie shows the generation circle combined with supernatural powers of GOD and destiny…..!!
Another explanation(and this is slightly far fetched— as explained earlier) is that Govind is in fact the reincaranation of Nambi. As Nambi he couldn’t protect God and died in the name of God.In order to fulfill his Karma,he is reincarnated as Govind Ramasamy who ultimately saves the world from destruction. The idol in the end somewhat hints to this theory; his story began with the idol and it ends with the idol.
As far as the connection with Nambi character and events in 12th Century goes…
The connection is based on the “Butterfly effect “.
When Govind and Andal goes to the bury the idol in the sands, Andal will stumble on a particular stone couple of times…This is the same stone as the one from 12th Century hen Kothai rips her Thaali and flings it at Kulothunga Chozan…it will end up hanging on the stone. So, the implied message here is Andal is Kothai reborn in the 21s century.
During the encounter with Santhana Bharathi in the sand quarry, it is repeat of the incident from 12th century. Instead of Kulothunga Chozhan, it is the Sand Mafia which tries to inflict damage on the land.
This movie is a brilliant juxtaposition of independent characters whose paths cross, if only briefly, which is stunning example of Chaos Theory.
The idol that is drowned in the sea along with Rangarajan in 12th century by Chozha king results in a fault being developed at the bottom of the ocean and creates tremors more than 800 years later. These tremors result in the Tsunami. This again is a classic case of Butterfly Effect wherein a seemingly inconcsequential event (the drowing of the idol) saves Tamil Nadu from being wiped out off the face of the earth.
But actually kamal has not left anything for our imagination… Explanation struck the right chord, Kamal does tell to Asin in a dialogue that idol which gets sunken back then gets struck between the tectonic plates under the sea and causes tsunami…
Many people missed this dialogue i guess. Kamal’s accent was so very perfect Tamil, that many people missed it…. Being perfect Is a Problem by Itself !!!
Although the explanation is a least possible theory, that is what “Chaos Theory” And “Butterfly Effect” are all about.
Its not just the statue that caused the tsunami, but it just started a large chain of effects which kept multiplying exponentially and finally lead to it after 800 years….!!
Why just say this concept is perfectly illogical… it is possible… thats what i have been explaining all the while !!!
The story line is that things going wrong are made to be right which involves many people and countries knowingly or unknowingly..

TRUE ABOUT DASAVATHARAM...A BIG SALUTE TO KAMAL HAASAN...

ITS 100% TRUE ABOUT DASAVATHARAM...

If you knew the real dasavatharams of Lord Vishnu and their characters you can appreciate the script more. Let me explain, starting with the best adapted role:

1. Krishna avatar - Vincent Poovaraghavan

Lord krishna is actually a dalit, he is dark-skinned [shyamalam]. He saved draupadi when she was being violated and he was the actual diplomat in mahabharatham. Lord krishna dies of an arrow striking his lower leg. Now look at how vincent was introduced. He appears when Asin is about to be molested and he saves her like draupadi. Vincent is the dalit diplomat, fights for land issue [soil issue to be exact] and dies from the metal rod striking his leg. Oh even five of vincent's men are drugged at P. Vasu's.. Sounds familiar???

2. Balarama avatar - Balarama Naidu
This is an easy given. As the name suggests and the role personifies you can easily get it.

3. Mathsya avatar - Ranagaraja Nambi
Nambi is thrown into water in an act of trying to save lord from being thrown into sea, though vainly. what more clue do you want?

4. Varaha avatar - Krishnaveni Paatti
During the Mukunda song, Krishnaveni Paatti does varaha avatar in the shadow puppetry. The frame freezes on it for a second. there is the clue. Moreover, in varaha avatar lord actually hides earth so as to protect life forms. Here too Krishnaveni hides the germs - life form inside the statue so as to protect.

5. Vamana avatar - Kalifulla KhanRemember in vamana avatar, lord vishnu takes the vishvaroopa, that is the giant form! Hence the giant Kalifulla here symbolises vamana avatar.

6. Parasurama avatar - Christian Fletcher
Parasurama is actually on an angry killing spree and killed 21 generations of the particular kshatriya vamsa. Hence the real KILLER... Guess what thats what our Fletcher is! He comes around with the gun [modern upgrade for axe] and kills everyone around. I have to check if he kills 21 people though.

7. Narasimha avatar - Shingen Narahashi

First of all the name itself is a play on the words singam [means lion in tamil] and narasimha [the avatar being symbolised]. Lord Narasimha manifests himelf to kill the bad guy and he also teaches prahaladha. In the movie, he shows up to kill the killer fletcher! And is also a teacher.. Lord Narasimha had to kill the asura with bare hands and hence the martial arts exponent here.. Get it?

8. Rama avatar - Avatar Singh
Lord Rama stands for the one man one woman maxim, kind of symbolising true love.. Here Avatar portrays that spirit by saying that he loves his woman more than anything and wants to live for her.

9. Kalki avatar - Govindaraj Ramasamy
As you know, the hero in kaliyuga can be none other than the Kalki avatar!!!

10. Koorma avatar - Bush
This is the most loose adaptation I couldn't clearly comprehend. But if you look at the real koorma avatar, the lord is the turtle/tortoise that helps in stirring the ksheera sagara and bringing out the amruth. This essentially creates war among the devas and asuras. Similarly today Bush facilitates war between you know whom... May be Kamal also indicates that this avatar is a bit dumb like the tortoise...
You see... Now you knOw what does the movie trying to tell you...

YOU JUST HAVE TO WATCH IT AGAIN...BUT FOR ME I WATCH FOR THE FIRST TIME I UNDERSTOOD THE MOVIE...

A super-duper movie... Kamal, a genius!

DASAVATHAARAM [PERFECT TEN]

One striking feature that hits you in the face once you have watched ‘Dasavatharam’ is Kamal Haasan's passion for film making. All the ten roles he has essayed have been meticulously planned right from the body language to dialogue delivery. Be it the American president George Bush, the Vaishnavite priest of the 12th century or Fletcher, the American baddie.

The eyes are considered the most effective tools in creating the right kind of attitude for any actor and Kamal Haasan is a master at that. There are many a time in the film when the audience would have to force themselves to believe that it is the same actor who is the good guy as well as the bad guy.

The expressive and determined eyes of the priest, the mushy and yet funny countenance of Balaram Naidu, the hilarious CBI officer and the peaceful martial artist eyes of the Japanese character have all shaped up to fit into any acting text book. Hats off to Kamal Haasan on the acting front!!

Based loosely on Chaos theory, the narration of the film promises a lot of excitement and as the story unfolds, somewhere down the line there are a few missing links that have been forcefully stitched together. Govind, the bio-scientist in the United States of America has been wronged by his boss who has intentions of selling his invention to wrong hands. The determined scientist doesn't give up. He sneaks it away and after a few accidents the invention lands in India. The hunt and race against time especially with Fletcher, the ex-CIA baddie sniffing at his neck with murderous intent culminates into Govind meeting an irrationally sentimental and at times sweet Andal (Asin). The baddie with sizzling Mallika Sherawat for company proceeds along the vulnerable Indian security system and shows up at the right places at the right time.

The narration then makes sure most of the characters played by Kamal get into close proximity in terms of geography. The stunt sequences are quite professional with its share of thrilling moments, but then there are too many coincidences consistently. The protagonist and his slowly, but surely falling-in-love lady companion seem to be jumping off just about everything. Soft landing seems to be a predictable option at most times.

When it comes to action and stunt scenes, ‘Dasavatharam’ is head and shoulders above most Indian films. The music element in the film is passable with some breathtaking re-recording bits in patches.

Cinematography has been simply awesome. The heavy compositing and trick shots have not dampened Ravi Varman's innate talent at creating the right kind of mood the film depicts.

‘Dasavatharam's’ review can never be complete without talking about the makeup part. Apart from the desired result one can guess the kind of effort and hard work Kamal Haasan would have had to go through just to get them on and that too on a daily basis. Makeup has been good overall except for a few shots that show off a kind of plastic look.

Computer Generated Imagery plays a huge role in the film. When the same actor plays seven feet plus youth and an old woman who is barely five feet, one can imagine the kind of intensive scaling and image manipulation by the CG team. Recreation of the 2004 Tsunami is impressive and the action part weaves the intensity of the story.

The direction has been apt sticking to the script in the true sense of the term. K. S. Ravikumar known for his simple style of narration has not been himself with ‘Dasavatharam’, but has shown sparks of ingenuity.

Kamal Haasan has stuck to his favorite subject of the 'no God' debate in this film too and has glorified himself probably for the first time on screen with a dialogue directed at him as being the 'Ulaga Nayagan'.

With Kamal Haasan playing ten roles, all other actors have been completely overshadowed.

This is a movie that has highlighted a highly talented and passionate actor in his entire splendor. At the end of the film one tends to ask….has Kamal Haasan been so spectacular that he has overshadowed the script and story this time?

Vijay's Villu Photo Stills

Saturday, June 21, 2008

Ever since the movie Azhagiya Tamil Magan and Kuruvi does not helped Vijay alot to the Box Office..The next movie that will be 'Villu' directed by Pokkiri Fame Dance Master Prabhu Deva...Touted as the next superstar of Tamil cinema, Vijay is reportedly keen on getting everything right with ‘Villu’.

Vijay has come up to consolidate his success in this movie. Vijay's magnetic appeal in the B and C centers has seen to it that even his average movies somehow scrape through at the box office. But this is a trend that might not continue for long especially with the influx of talented young filmmakers experimenting new styles of storytelling in Tamil cinema. These innovative approaches have been recognized and appreciated by audiences. The surge of quality film making is bound to tighten the noose around run-of-the-mill stories. After the stupendous success of 'Pokkiri', the remake of a Telugu film by the same name, Vijay has teamed up with Prabhu Deva once again, to reproduce the success. Sources say ‘Villu’ is expected to have the usual dose of fights, dance, sentiment-filled sequences and loads of dialogues that 'glorify' Vijay.

These are facets that are loved by the 'typical' Vijay fan. No matter how well these elements reach out, the story and narration hold the key to the long run. This is where Prabhu Deva and Vijay have to be extra careful. There is a talk doing the rounds as to what the story of ‘Villu’ is going to be like. It goes like this….

A group of baddies kill an honest, hardworking man. The man's wife and son are somehow spared. The son (Vijay) grows up under the impression that his father had perished in an accident. But then, as the story goes, Vijay learns of the malicious plot that got his father murdered. An angry Vijay hatches a plan to bring the murderers to justice and in the process falls in love with the daughter of a baddie, played by Nayantara. Inevitably it is justice and love ahead of Dad and so she toes the lines of Vijay's plans dutifully only to succeed.

Even a die hard Vijay fan would be hoping against hope that this is just a rumor and the actual story is in fact a new gripping tale. If this rumor turns out to be true, one gets the feeling Vijay will have to get back to square one, rethink his strategies and start all over again in order to get things right.

BIOGRAPHY OF GENELIA

Popular Telugu actress Genelia D'Souza was born on August 5, 1987, in England. She is also known to people close to her as Harini. Her parents originally hail from Goa and later moved to England. Genelia made her move from England to India in pursuit of her childhood dream of becoming an actress. She got her first break in the movie 'Boys' directed by Shankar. The film was a box-office hit and soon Genelia started getting more roles. Genelia has so far acted in over a dozen Telugu, Tamil and Hindi movies.

Genelia's success rate in Tollywood has been pretty good. Her movies Satyam, Masti, Samba, Sye and Happy have all fared pretty well at the box office. Despite getting good roles and her movies doing average business commercially, Genelia was still waiting for that one big hit that could change her career. The wait was not long as her most recent movie 'Bommarillu' has had a huge positive impact on Genelia’s career.

Bommarillu, with Genelia and Siddharth Narayan in the lead, became a super duper hit and gave her career the much needed boost. In the movie Genelia plays the role of a talkative and bubbly girl 'Hasini' who does whatever she likes to do. Her acting skills have been well appreciated throughout the industry and she won many awards for the movie.

Finally the true acting talent of Genelia has come to forefront with 'Bommarillu' and now time will tell if Genelia can become the number one actress in South India. Her latest movie Dee with Vishnu directed by Sreenu Vytla is expected to come out in January or February. Genelia also recently bagged the role of leading lady opposite Aamir Khan's nephew Imraan Khan in his debut Bollywood movie Tu Ya Jaane Na.

Genelia is happy to be paired with young heroes in the industry and she said that, she has big dreams but is ready to wait patiently to achieve them one after another. The young actress also said that she should have a meaty role in a movie and does not like to be branded as a heroine who appears in a couple of scenes and songs and fades away from a movie.

Recently industry sources have reported that Genelia is rejecting new offers as her marriage is on cards. Genelia fell in love with a Tamil hero, Bharat. Love between the couple blossomed during the shooting of the Tamil film ‘Chennai Kadal’.

DASAVATHARAM ROCKZZZZZ.....

Cast: Kamal Hassan, Asin, Jayapradha
Music: Himesh Reshammiya
Camera: Ravi Varman
Direction: K.S.Ravikumar
Producer: V.Ravichandran

JUST BACK After watching Dasavatharam in theatre for the first show at GSC 1 Utama- the so called magnum opus of the year- an ardent fan of Kamal Hassan will ask why indeed it is called a magnum opus in the first place. Why was all the hype, tension, cases, expectations and unnecessary expenses wasted on this average film. Kamal did a good job in this movie!!!!

The story starts with an incident taking place in 12th century during the rule of the Chozha dynasty when Hindus were divided into Saivites and Vaishnavites. Rangarajan Nambi (Avatar No.1) is a loyal disciple of Ramanuja Azhwar. King Kulothunga (Napolean - what a fantastic performance!), a follower of Lord Siva, compels Nambi to change his religious beliefs and worship Lord Siva instead of Lord Vishnu but Nambi refuses.

The king then orders for the immersion of the statue of Lord Ranganatha along with Nambi into the sea.

After this meaningless first avatar, the movie shifts to the present scientific world. Govind (Avatar No.2), an American scientist invents a dangerous bio weapon in his lab but wants to destroy the same after realizing its dangerous consequences. But the US Govt and scientists don't allow him to do that. One fine day, Govind runs away from the lab with the bio weapon but Fletcher (Avatar No.3), a former CIA officer turned villian, chases him to get the weapon back to destroy other countries.

The weapon is mistakenly sent to an Indian address by courier where a 95 year old lady (Avatar No.4) receives the parcel. Govind immediately rushes to India and traces down the address. He is followed by Fletcher who is accompanied by his prostitute cum translator (Mallika Sherawat). The old lady refuses to give the weapon to them without understanding the danger it could cause and puts it inside a statue of Lord Vishnu.

The scientist captures the statue and starts running with it pulling Asin close relative of the old lady, along with him. Fletcher chases him till the end of the film. A foolish police officer Balram Naidu (Avatar No.5) too is in the race always chasing both these characters.

In between a Punjabi singer (Avatar No.5), US President George Bush ( Avatar No.6), a tall Muslim ( Avatar No.7), a martial arts trainer ( Avatar No.8) and a Southern district resident Annachi ( Avatar No.9) comes, does something and disappears.

Finally the tsunami comes to the rescue of the Scientist and destroys the weapon along with drowning Fletcher . The statue of Lord Rangaraja which was immersed in the sea in 12th century also appears on the shore after the tsunami.

What did Kamal Hassan really want to convey? Lord Ranganatha, the almighty who is sleeping inside the sea for centuries, finally sends a tsunami to destroy the bio weapon along with the bad guy. No doubt, Dasavatharam is really an average movie with a poor plot and characterization that fails in most of the departments and fails to attract the viewers.

What is the necessity or compulsion of portraying Kamal in 10 different get ups?To create some mindless hype or register it as a record in the Industry? Highly idiotic! Particularly the role of Punjabi Singer, Muslim tall man Kalifullah Khan, Annachi and Japanese martial arts trainer unnecessarily intervene in the flow of story.

There is no professionalism in makeup also. For most of the characters, the makeup looks very amateur. Kamal looks like an animation character playing the bad guys role because the makeup is over done. However, one must appreciate him for the hardwork put into playing so many different characters to perform in many roles simultaneously at this age.

Apart from Kamal, Asin plays dual roles for the first time but nothing is special in any of her get ups. Her performance is also not par excellence. Jayapradha appears in few scenes and does well in them. Nothing is special in Himesh Reshammiya's songs or Devi Sri Prasad's background score. Ravi Varman unnecessarily lifts the camera to top angle and shakes even inside a house.

Technically the film is far superior to any other Tamil movie in some scenes, particularly in the tsunami climax. The special effects of Jennie in the last 15 minutes simply rocks. Also the body language of Japanese Kamal is simply excellent. Watch this movie to see Kamal in 10 different avatars.

BIOGRAPHY OF A.R RAHMAN

INTRODUCTION

The name A.R.Rahman needs no introduction. The man who redefined contemporary Indian music and is the pride of the entire nation and an idol for millions all over the world needs no preamble. But if you happen to be one, still among the few unfortunate souls, who are a stranger to him and his heavenly music, then read on.

PROLOGUE

The year was 1991. Ace Tamil movie director Mani Ratnam was on the lookout for a new composer to give music for his films. His long standing fruitful association with the doyen of Tamil film music Illaiyaraja, which had spanned over 10 films and as many years had come to an end when the two had had a fallout after the latter reportedly made some sarcastic comments during the making of Mani Ratnam's then latest film 'Dalapati'. One day, at an awards function for excellence in the field of advertising, Mani Ratnam chanced upon a young man who received the award for the best ad jingle which he had composed for the popular Leo Coffee ad. At the celebrations party that followed the awards presentation ceremony, Mani Ratnam was introduced to the young composer by his cousin Sharada Trilok of Trish Productions for whose company the young man had produced some outstanding work. Sharada had words of high praise for the young composer. Mani was curious and requested him for a sample of his wares. The composer readily complied and invited the director over to his studio. Mani Ratnam turned up at the studio only after six months, where the 24 year old lad played out a tune that he had been pushed into composing by his school friend G.Bharat alias Bala when they both had been greatly disturbed by the socio-political tensions in South India over the Cauvery river waters issue. Listening to the tune that was played, Mani was hooked instantly. Without a second thought he signed on the composer to score the music for his next film. That film did not work out but Mani signed him on for a new film which was to be produced by the veteran Tamil director K.Balachander for his respected 'Kavithalayaa' banner. That film was 'Roja'. That tune would become the song "Tamizha Tamizha" in 'Roja'. The music of the film would be a phenomenal success that would revolutionise modern day Indian film music. The name of the 25-year old composer was A. R. Rahman. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Cut to the year 1998. Mani Ratnam's then latest film, his first in Hindi and his fifth with Rahman, 'Dil Se..' hit the screens. The movie all but bombed in India. But the music, yet again was a resounding success. The music sold like hot cakes even six months after it was released in the market. In a recession hit Indian Film industry, the two biggest hits of the year, 'Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya' and 'Ghulam' had sold 2 million cassettes each. Such was the confidence of the music company, Venus, in the Rahman-Ratnam combination that they started with an unprecedented initial run of 2 million cassettes, then notched up sales of 6 million and are still going strong. It even successfully survived the onslaught of what later became the year's biggest hit, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. So much so, that just on the strength of its music, Dil Se.. succeeded in gaining the distinction of being the first Asian film to enter the U.K. Top 10. Moviegoers in London said that it is the music that drew them to the movie halls. Such is the spell that the music from the Rahman-Ratnam combination has cast over music lovers.
The Rahman-Ratnam combination forged six years ago is now five films strong and has given the world of Indian films some of its best music. The combination has taken music to new heights that has succeeded in captivating millions of listeners not just across India but even in far flung corners of the world. Rahman says about his mentor, "I was blessed to be picked by a director like him. He encouraged me a lot. It was as if I studied in Mani's own university of music. He is like a brother to me."

BACKGROUND

Going back in History, the following question arises. Six years ago, who listened to Tamil music? Only Tamilians. Five years ago, what did teenagers dance to at discotheques? What else but Michael Jackson, Dr.Alban or the latest Western dance hit of the day. But one man singlehandedly changed all that. With his universally appealing tunes, A.R.Rahman has demolished all conventional rules in Indian film music. He amazes with the manner in which he seamlessly integrates traditionally incompatible harmonies. If anyone can make a perfect potpourri of the latest dancehall rhythms, electro-pop, Latin melodies, Western and Indian classical and pepper it all with a local folk touch or even something as otherworldly as Reggae and serve it all in a contemporary Indian manner that mesmerises listeners, it is A.R.Rahman. His music transcends all barriers - geographic, age or linguistic. Everyone from 6 to 60, Kashmir to Kanyakumari, as the cliché goes, are fans of his music. He was the first to successfully and solidly bridge the gap across the Vindhyas with Hindi speaking denizens who did not understand one word of Tamil enthusiastically lapping up his music. He gave film music a trendy legitimacy, a legitimacy that made Indian youth who were till then ashamed of admitting in public that they enjoyed Indian film music, dance to Humma Humma, Muqabla Muqabla, Musthafa Musthafa and Chaiyya Chaiyya at every pub, club and disco. Overnight, Indian film music considered 'infra-dig' by the youth became 'cool' and 'hep'. All in all, quite arguably, no one has influenced Indian music as much as Rahman has in recent times.
He is the man who helped south Indian cinema go national in a way that was considered impossible even a decade ago. He bridged the gap between Tamil (and even Telugu on occasion) and Hindi with that most universal of all languages: music. Predictably Rahman would later say "I hate the discrimination between south, north, Tamil, Hindi. If I represent India that is good enough for me. But we should cross all these barriers." Rahman did more: he made, to use film industry jargon, music a territory in its own right. Thus, the soundtrack of each movie was sold as if it were a separate entity from the film itself. And as if to prove him right, his music assumed a life of its own, flying off the shelves at record speed even when the film in question bombed at the boxoffice.
Rahman's strength lies not only in his perfect sense of melody and rhythm but also in his immaculate sound engineering. His music has been hailed as that of the digital age and has also been assailed for the very same reason. His music can never be adequately described in words. One has to personally experience the pleasure of his creations. Many of his compositions might actually sound ordinary the first time. But his music has this amazing capacity to grow on you and establish a firm hold on the listener. His compositions are an intriguing cocktail of musical pieces that literally blow your mind. His music is unique in its offbeat instrumental interludes, unconventional harmonies, and use of far from perfect voices and thumping rhythms.

EARLY DAYS

A. R. Rahman or Allah Rakha Rahman was born actually A. S. Dileep Kumar on the 6th of January in the year 1967, in Madras (now Chennai), to a musically affluent Tamil Mudaliar family. The second of four children he had three sisters Kanchana, Bala (now Talat) and Israth, Kanchana being elder and the other two younger. His father R.K. Sekhar was a composer, arranger and conductor in Malayalam movies and had worked under the likes of Salil Chowdhary and Devarajan. His mother was Kasthuri (now Kareema Begum). Dileep's baptism in music happened early in life. Dileep's earliest memories of the studio are with his father. On one of those visits, a music director Sudarshanam Master found the four year old playing a tune on the harmonium. He covered the keys with a cloth. It made no difference. Dileep replayed the tune effortlessly. This impressed the music director who suggested that he be trained in music. Dileep started learning the piano at the tender age of four. He recieved his early training in music from Dhanraj Master.
But he wanted to grow up to be an electronics or computer engineer. He says today, in reminiscence " I was not crazy after music. I was more interested in technology". He was first drawn to music strongly when his father bought a synthesiser, one of the very first in film circles then, from Singapore. Till then he now says, "As a child, music seemed to be a means of earning bread and butter. I had no special fascination for it... it was associated purely with work. Yet I couldn't take my eyes away from the synthesiser, it was like a forbidden toy." This instrument was an object of much curiosity to the young Dileep and caught his fancy. Dileep used to spend hours experimenting with the novel instrument. This instrument was to shape the future of this child. It was perhaps divinely ordained that the synthesiser would become Dileep's favourite instrument since it was the ideal combination of music and technology.
Rahman's early years were one of struggle and hardships. At the age of 9, his father passed away following a mysterious illness with rumours abounding that he was the victim of black magic practised by his rivals. Unfortunately R. K. Shekhar passed away the very same day his first film as composer was released. It was at this time that Rahman's belief in God first took a beating. Much of his time was filled with hospital visits, pain and anxieties. It is an issue that Rahman outrightly refuses to discuss even today. After his father's death the pressure of supporting his family fell on the young Dileep. At first the family subsisted by lending out his father's musical instruments. At the age of 11, he joined Illaiyaraja's troupe as a keyboard player in order to earn for his family's upkeep. He also learnt to play the guitar. Thus Rahman formally entered the world of music. He also began to play the keyboard for programmes on television.
It was his mother Kareema Begum who encouraged him to follow in his father's footsteps and fully supported him in his vocation. But all this had an adverse effect on his formal education. Infrequent attendance and an unaccommodative management forced him to shift schools from the prestigious Padma Seshadri Bal Bhavan to the Madras Christian College and finally he dropped out of school altogether when he was doing his 11th grade. He also played on the orchestra of M.S.Vishwanathan, Raj-Koti and Ramesh Naidu and accompanied Zakir Hussain and Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan on world tours. He also appeared playing the keyboard on a few popular music shows on televison like 'Wonder Balloon' on the Madras Doordarshan channel. He also supposedly composed a few short pieces of music in Ilaiyaraja's films, a notable one being the theme music in K.Balachander's 'Punnagai Mannan'.
All this experience enabled him to earn a scholarship to the famed Trinity College of Music at Oxford University from where he obtained a degree in Western Classical Music. He came back with a dream to bring an international and contemporary world perspective to Indian music. After he returned, he continued to be a part of various local music troupes. He was also a part of local rock bands like Roots, Magic and Nemesis Avenue where he performed with his future colleagues like Suresh Peters, Ranjit Barot and Sivamani Anandan. This, he says, was a very valuable learning experience. Thus Dileep came to be totally immersed in music. The only source of joy to him was music, so much so, that friends like guitarist John Anthony would say, "Who is the Prime Minister of India, do you know? Get out and see beyond your nose in Kodambakkam". But he was not at all sure he wanted to turn professional.
Dileep thus firmly established himself this way and worked for nearly 8 to 9 years with various music directors. He also worked as an arranger for Illaiyaraja, M.S.Vishwanathan, Ouseappachan and Raj-Koti. He has this to say of his stint with Illaiyaraja "Until then I thought you had to drink or take dope to be a good artist. But Ilayaraja was making such beautiful music and leading a pure life!'' " I was under the impression that if its music, whoever it is, they must have some bad habit. When I saw them with drinks and drugs I thought 'Oh! they are music people. They have to take drinks, smoke and cocaine to get their inspiration'. The man who changed these impressions altogether was only Ilayaraja. He proved that he can make good music without any bad habits! Even now he is an inspiration for me being so religious today."
But the young and enthusiastic Dileep felt shackled by just plain arranging and could barely withstand the monotony of playing in an orchestra all the time with all his creative urges being suppressed. The kind of sound he liked was already there in fusion - in L. Shankar and L. Subramaniam whom he worked with, and in the then popular 'Shakti' group. He played on the keyboard for T. V. Gopalakrishnan and Kadri Gopalnath, with Sivamani on the drums. He says, "It gave us some kicks.'' At this time, Vizi Manuel, the lead keyboard player in Illaiyaraja's troupe advised him to try other alternatives for pursuing a musical career, like advertising. This was a suggestion that appealed to him and he explored some avenues seriously. The complexes increased. "I thought, what if the film world ends? I learnt driving, so that I could survive as a driver.'' The restlessness pushed him into making jingles for ads. Fortunately for Dileep he soon got his first break in advertising when he was asked to compose the jingle to promote Allwyn's new Trendy range of watches, in 1987. The ads were a success and Dileep's work in them was appreciated. Dileep quit playing in orchestras and moved full time into advertising as a few more offers came his way. Thus began Dileep's 5-year successful saga in advertising where he went on to not only compose more than 300 jingles, but would also be the stepping stone to his entry into films. Working as a jingle composer not only gave him an outlet to his creative urges but also gave him the much needed exposure to the music industry. The people he came in contact with during his work in advertising gave him a pathway to the film world. During his stint in advertising, he released his first ever complete music album, of Islamic devotional songs, titled 'Deen Isai Malai', in Tamil. This was later followed by 'Set Me Free', an album of English songs which was the launch album of singer Malgudi Subha, by Magnasound, where Dileep set the songs to tune. Subha had earlier sung for Dileep in many jingles. Both the albums went somewhat unnoticed in the market. He also set to tune the poems of poet-author Randhir Khare.
Around this time, in 1988, one of his sisters fell seriously ill and numerous attempts to cure her failed. Her condition progressively worsened. The family tried everything from medicine to religious methods like havans and prayers in the church. The family had given up all hope when they came in close contact with a Muslim Pir - Sheik Abdul Qadir Jeelani or Pir Qadri as he was popularly known. The family had earlier gone to the Pir when his father had similar troubles, but were too late to save him. With his prayers and blessings, Dileep's sister made a miraculous recovery. Rattled by the bad experiences earlier in the case of his father and now his sister and influenced by the teachings of the Pir and the succour that they found in him the entire family converted to Islam. Thus A. S. Dileep Kumar became Allah Rakha Rahman. Today, Rahman says 'Islam has given me peace. As Dileep I had an inferiority complex. As A. R. Rahman I feel like I have been born again.'
Both his father and mother were believers in Astrology. His mother took him along once to a astrologer to get the horoscope of Bala (Talat) done. She asked the astrologer to suggest an Islamic name for Dilip. The astrologer on seeing Dilip immediately told his mother to name him as Abdul Rahman and shorten it to A. R. Rahman. When his mother asked the astrologer why the other initial 'R', the astrologer replied "Give him a name with two initials and mark my words, he will grow up to be a great man". His mother did accordingly. But the A and R would later become Allah Rakha on the suggestion of reknowned composer Naushad Ali.
In an interview, he was to say about his father, " My father passed away when I was 9 years old. My mother used to narrate many tales about my father which used to make me very happy. My father was regarded to be highly knowledgeable in music by many people. I still listen to many of the old songs tuned by him. I think that its his enormous knowledge of music that has come down to me by the grace of God".
When asked what prompted him to convert to Islam, he says "I remember my father suffering. He was taken to eight to nine hospitals, including the CMC hospital in Vellore and the Vijaya hospital in Madras. I saw him suffering physical pain... I remember the Christian priests who would read from the Bible beside his hospital bed... I remember the pujas and the yagnas performed by the pundits... by the time, the Muslim pirs came , it was too late. He had already left us. After my father passed away, for some years when I was a teenager I believed there was no God. But there was a feeling of restlessness within me. I realised that there can be no life without a force governing us... without one God. And I found what I was looking for in Islam. I would go with my mother to durgahs. And pirsaab Karim Mullashah Qadri would advise us. When we shifted to this house, we resolved to stick to the faith."
Rahman became a very religious and devout Muslim. After this period his career graph began to take the upward path. More and more advertising offers came his way. In 1989 Rahman was very intent on having an own studio so that he would have dedicated recording facilities where he could not only equip himself with the latest infrastucture but also experiment with music at his convenience. At this time, the Pir came to his house and blessed him saying that he would attain unparalled success. The very next day the Pir passed away. Thus Rahman decided to establish his studio at the very spot where he had been blessed by the Pir. He called his studio Panchathan Record Inn and it was attached to his house in Kodambakkam. Even today, the first thing that you notice when you enter his studio is a framed photograph of the Pir. The studio abounds with Islamic inscriptions. This studio would later develop into one of India's most well equipped and advanced recording studios. In his established state-of-the-art sound and recording studio he began experimenting in sound engineering, design and production. He also began a collection of sound samples, creating one of the most comprehensive sonic libraries in Asia.
Continuing with his stint in the advertising world Rahman did a lot of popular ads like those for Parry's, Leo Coffee, Springz Mineral Water, Boost featuring Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev, Titan, Remanika Sarees, Premier Pressure Cooker, MRF Tyres, Hero Puch, The Hindu Young World and Asian Paints. He also scored the title music for television channels like JJTV, Sun TV, and Asianet. He also scored the music for numerous television and radio commercials, scores for corporate films and documentaries, multi-media audio-visual scores national integration programmes, social awareness and public campaign programmes and international documentaries in many languages. These scores range from 10 seconds to a complete hour. The jingles that he composed for the Leo Coffee ad starring Aravind Swamy and the Asian Paints ad directed by Rajeev Menon also won him awards and recognition. He also won an award for composing the theme music of the Madras Telugu Academy's Spirit of Unity Concerts. Later he would say about his stint in advertising " Working in ads contributed to the precision in my music. In jingles, you only have a few seconds to create a mood, or convey a message or emotion. Jingles taught me discipline."

EPILOGUE

The man behind the music is still much of an enigma. "If a music artiste wants to blossom into a full-pledged person, it's not enough if he knows only classical music; nor it's enough if he's well-versed only in raagaas and techniques. Instead, he should be a knowledgeable person interested in life and philosophy. In his personal life there should be, atleast in some corner of his heart, a tinge of lingering sorrow," he says.
When asked if turning religious helped his work, he says "After a point, it is energy which comes from above and removes your insecurity. Then you can go ahead. The world can abuse you but your confidence cannot be shaken. You want fame, but once you get it you lose your head. So just leave it to God and carry on with your work. It makes it all easy. If I put it in my head that I did it, then I fall flat because I can't take the next step. When asked why there is so much back-biting about him, he says "See, you can never be a better person to everyone,'' he says ingenuously. "To achieve something you have to offend someone. I am doing five films and someone says, do mine too. I say no. And he goes around saying, "Rahman? Bullshit!'' because I'm no longer useful to him. Besides, so much is happening outside, you need to hang on to something peaceful''. When asked if he is scared of disappointments he states frankly "Disappointments? Failures? The holy book says they test you. A few years down the line you see the setback was a good thing, it stopped disaster''. He wants to be like a boat on a river without a sail, the currents having freeplay. 'I am like a boat in the river, I go where ever it takes me', he says. Rahman's visits to dargahs and long prayer sessions have been criticised as unprofessional interruptions of his schedule."If there's no mental peace, what schedule? I need that spiritual cleansing, I meet the friends of God who have learnt so much and helped so many.'' He sees dargahs as beyond religious conflicts. The Sufi way of love answers his need. Rahman discloses also that with that gain in confidence, he has become more considerate towards others.
If all this reveals a man mature beyond his years, he responds by saying " I have been with older people since I was eleven.Only when I saw my photograph in the newspaper while scoring for Roja did I discover I didn't have grey hair, why, I was quite young!'' He continues "I know there is no point in all this success. I remember father, I remember how he suffered. And I learnt the hard lesson. When a musician is in demand everyone flocks around him... otherwise he's abandoned like a shirt that is torn and tattered. I've seen the callousness of the world with my very own eyes at a young age. Today, I know that success doesn't last forever. It could disappear suddenly one day. In fact,I feel every new film that I take up will be my last one. If I'm wanted today, I could be discarded tomorrow. they'll simply say, 'look this boy has failed and he thought he was in a position of advantage.' " He adds, "Each movie is like a child to me. If the child is beautiful, its a matter of pride for me."
Rahman, for whom music is not just a profession but 'a spiritual experience', completed 9 years in the film industry on August 15th 2001. In this short span he changed the very face of film music in India and touched heights that no music director ever had previously. He has built up a repertoire of scintillating scores that anybody would kill for. He has become a national icon. He is also arguably the most well known Indian composer of popular music internationally. He has successfully taken popular Indian music international. He has fans not just among expatriate Indians but also among natives of places like Brazil, Sweden and Australia. He changed the image of a music director from being a paan-chewing, harmonium-clutching copycat to that of a technology-savvy person. He took Tamil music global and established the universal appeal of his music, whatever the language the lyrics be in. He set the standards by which music came to be rated in India. The benchmarks set by him were what others aimed to achieve. The soundtracks of his unsuccessful scores sold more than the soundtracks of the successful scores of other composers. He also collected inumerable accolades for his work - a Padmashri, 14 Filmfare Awards in 10 years (9 years on the trot in Tamil and 5 in Hindi), 3 National Awards, 6 Tamil Nadu State Awards and numerous others - a feat unparalleled and not likely to be overhauled in the foreseeable future. Every director of repute yearns to work with him and every actor hopes to dance to his tunes, literally.
At the age of 35, when many others are just starting out, Rahman has garnered achievements that many others cannot in a lifetime. He has already worked with internationally reputed artistes like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Michael Jackson, Jean Michel Jarre, Sir Andrew LLoyd Webber, Deep Forest, Apache Indian, Zakir Hussain, Dominic Miller, L.Shankar, David Byrne, Kadri Gopalnath, Vikku Vinayakram, Ustad Sultan Khan and Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt among many others. On a recent trip to India, David Byrne met Rahman and was so impressed that he went on to record some sessions with Rahman for a projecthe is currently completing (as yet unreleased). It can be safely said that the current modern era will be considered as to have been greatly influenced by the 'Rahman School of Music'. Rahman lists among his musical favourites Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Carpenters, Carnatic, Rock and fusion and among film composers Naushad, S. D. and R. D. Burman and in Tamil K. V. Mahadevan and Vishwanathan-Ramamoorthy.
When asked what music means to him, he says "Many things. Its hard to define: bread and butter, peace, happiness, and devotion. When you are working on a piece and it turns out to be good its like a moment of magic. It gives you a lot of happiness when you think that millions are listening to your music. Its also a whole process- making it likeable to myself first andthen taking it towards perfection. Music is beyond description and without boundaries. We have to keep expanding our horizons and make room for new things. take a small butterfly or insect - if you look at it closely you discover so many new things. When I do something, I want to be original. I sit, just blank my mind and pray. and I come up with something. Mostly its good and gets approved. It could be so simple and even a child could have composed it, but to give it soul that's what's important. Music is a spiritual thing not a formula. "If a music artiste wants to blossom into a full-pledged person, it's not enough if he knows only classical music; nor it's enough if he's well-versed only in raagaas and techniques. Instead, he should be a knowledgeable person interested in life and philosophy. In his personal life there should be, atleast in some corner of his heart, a tinge of lingering sorrow."
"I'm inspired any time I watch a good musician playing. When I'm programming my music on my own, I always think of some great drummer or some great bass guitarist. When I'm playing on the keyboards, I think of how beautifully another musician plays the instrument. And that inspires me to play." "When I see Mughal-e-Azam I feel the whole sound track has been produced with a continuous, intense feeling. No cracks, no jerks. It took Naushad two years of concentration, as if he couldn't see anything else''.
When asked if dealing with constant pressures of delivering somthting different would lead to a burnout, Rahman says, "I believe that a burnout occurs when one is not happy with what he is doing. Probabaly he's doing it out of family pressures or financial hassles. But not for the passion of it. But I am in this profession because I thoroughly enjoy doing what I do, and wouldn't want to do anything else. That's the reason why I have never felt overworked or then felt like taking a break from my work. At times, all I want to do is absorb the things happening around me and study more about music. But everything that I do has to be related only to music. So, there's no concept of a burnout occuring in my life. God forbid." "Above all I am a strong believer in destiny. I also believe that destiny can be changed by prayers."
"I am surprised when good things happen. I am cool when something bad happens, also. I trust God and in that way helps me to get rid of unnecessary things like jealousy, greed and all that stuff. Although I'm not fully out of it, at least I am almost at the surface of getting out of it. These things kind of give me a security for doing music. I don't have to worry if whether I'll be good, if I'll be successful, I'll be a failure or if I'll be thrown out or anything like that. Your almost like a vacuum, straight about everything. Which gives you a completely sublime, lonely feeling apart from others."
Never one to boast or brag about his accomplishments, he credits all his inspiration and success to Allah. "I am whatever because of my parents' prayers to Allah. I am whatever I am because the prayers I pray conscientiously, sincerely and with full faith five times a day. I will be whatever I am only because of Allah, I know it. He has given me everything. He can take everything away and I accept His decision without any questions, without a murmur. Allah is my everything. I am just an infinitesimal creation of His. He has created me for a specific mission. I will be committing a sin if I don't fulfil that mission. That's my only belief. That's the only thing that matters to me. I don't care for all the other temptations of the world. I am born for music. I live for music. I will live for music till the very end. That's Allah's will. That's all I Know", Rahman says. "The problem is, you can create only as long as you have the gift, only as long as the almighty wishes. After that, you can stand on your head, it still won't come. If God wills it so, it may happen to me too. I can take that. I belive that every individual, even an atom, can move only with the will of God. I don't take credit for doing all this. If I did, then I would fall flat. '' "Destiny has been the biggest influence in my life. Without the will of God I would have never reached where I have. That's why I believe I am like a boat in a river without a sail and a firm destination".
Apart from the Almighty he credits all his success to his mother who encouraged him to take up music when his interest lay in electronics. His maxim is that only total dedication and concentration to one's profession can help in producing good work. Rahman is certain that this dedication must increase with fame. Rahman makes his presence felt again despite maintaining a low profile in public life. It is well known that he is seldom seen at social gatherings, film parties or functions. "Fans, VIPs wanting to meet you, functions, parties - the moment you stop making good music all will stop. The only formula is - yes, we are back to it - total concentration on the work." All this success has not uprooted him from his roots, "Beyond what people achieve and strive for the only things that are really important are - personal values, family and friends." Ever the great improviser he never stops till he is fully satisfied. "If an album is to please all age groups, go beyond current fads, it must have a couple of memorable melodies. 'Hai rabbas' don't satisfy me. They make hits but are soon forgotten. You want to do something that lasts.''
Rahman treats his compositions with a Sufi's dedication. When a tune comes to him he ceases to function normally. "When music comes to me," he confessed in an unguarded moment, "I stop sleeping. I continue to work on spontaneously at nights for seven to eight hours at a stretch. When I finally pop off to sleep early in the morning I have these dreams that people are waiting for me. I can't even complete these dreams ."
In response to all the acclaim he has received, he says "It's a great responsibility. I am trying my best to combine traditional and contemporary styles. But sometimes the result isn't in my hands at all. It depends on the film and the director. Trends come and go but I have to keep doing my own thing.". "You have to learn from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is only teacher and that is your soul.
For Rahman, who eats music, thinks music, breathes music and lives music, the bottomline is that his music should reach out to the soul of humankind. "I know there are many people who say I don't know what music is. There are so many who say that what I create is not music. But I know the people are with me. The people love my music. I know Allah is with me all the time while I am creating and with Allah by my side I know nothing can go wrong. My music comes from somewhere deep within me. I could have created any kind of music but I create only that kind of music that comes from within my being. My music has a mission. It has to reach the bodies, the souls of the millions for whom I strive to create my music, music that springs from deep within me. I am a within man more than without. It is the language of the heart and the soul together that makes my music. And I don't have to make great efforts because my kind of music does not come by force or necessity. It has to flow from within me. That's the only way I know how to create. There's no other way. Let the people who don't like my music say what they want, I say again and again. Allah be with them. It is this music which he helps me create which appeals to both the body and the soul that is going to be one of the greatest forces that will help people from all over the world come closer, become one in body and soul in the millennium to come. I am working on that music for the future."
Amidst all this heady success, Rahman remains unchanged. He is as humble, modest, shy, low profile, unassuming, self-affacing, devout and down-to-earth as he was at the beginning of his career. A man of few words he believes in letting his work do all the talking. He prefers to save his energies for his work instead of fighting out numerous controversies. His personality is summed up in his favourite prayer which goes thus "O God, if I worship thee for fear of hell, burn me in hell, and if I worship thee in hope of Paradise, exclude me from Paradise, but if I worship thee for thy own sake, grudge me not thy everlasting beauty." The man has given immense pleasure to millions of music lovers world-wide with his compositions, music that brings a cheer to one's face and helps in forgetting one's troubles. It is probably these very divine qualities that made him the great man he is and the same will hopefully help him touch greater heights and touch newer glories and keep millions enchanted with his blissful music for years to come.

Biography Of M. Night Shyamalan

REAL NAME: MANOJ NELLIYATTU SHYAMALAN
BIRTH PLACE: PONDICHERRY, INDIA

Born in India but raised in the posh suburban Penn Valley area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, M. Night Shyamalan is the son of two doctors. His passion for filmmaking began when he was given a Super-8 camera at age eight, and even at that young age began to model his career on that of his idol,Steven Spielberg. His first film, Praying with Anger(1992), was based somewhat on his own trip back to visit the India of his birth. He raised all the funds for this project, in addition to directing, producing and starring in it.Wide Awake(1998), his second film, he wrote and directed, and shot it in the Philadelphia-area Catholic school he once attended--even though his family was of a different religion, they sent him to that school because of its strict discipline.

M. Night Shyamalan (born Manoj Nelliyattu Shyamalan, on August 6, 1970 in Pondicherry, India) is a screen writer and director. He is best known for his work on the movies The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, and The Village.

Hallmarks of Shyamalan's films include unexpected plot twists, realistic treatment of horror or science fiction themes, camera shots taken at unique angles, and a cameo appearance by Shyamalan himself in each film. His movies are also noted for their sharp screen play, effective background score, and film editing. The movie The Sixth Sense, which tells about a boy's interaction with spirits, hardly used computer animation or a loud background score. On each of Shyamalan's DVDs is also a short home movie made when he was a youngster, which are often as humorous as they are intriguing.

Shyamalan was raised in Penn Valley, Pennsylvania, United States a suburb of Philadelphia after his doctor parents emigrated to the United States. Shyamalan attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. It was here that he made up his middle name, Night. Shyamalan is married to Bhavna.

A recent "documentary" about his life, aired on the Sci-Fi Channel, claimed that Shyamalan was legally dead for nearly a half hour while drowned in a frozen pond in a childhood accident, and that upon being rescued he has had experiences of communicating with spirits. The Sci-Fi Channel also claimed that Shyamalan had grown angry when he had discovered that the documentary would reveal certain personal secrets, and had therefore withdrawn from participating. The Sci-Fi Channel later admitted that both the "documentary" itself and Shyamalan's objections to it were part of a hoax, perpetrated with Shyamalan's participation.

With the exception of his first film Praying with Anger (1992) which was filmed in Chennai, all of Shyamalan's movies have been filmed either in Philadelphia or elsewhere in the state of Pennsylvania.

KUNG FU PANDA IS GETTING ITS HIT WORLDWIDE....

DAM...KUNG FU PANDA TICKETS ARE SELLING OUT FAST EVERYDAY...ITS GETTING HOT...AND MAKING FAST PROFIT....NEVER EXPECTED I EVEN WATCH IT FOR SECOND TIME TOMORROW AGAIN IM WATCHING KUNG FU PANDA...WHAT TO DO ITS AWESOME.....HERE IS THE STORY ABOUT UNG FU PANDA ABOUT.....

Jack Black is such a big kid, and this animated movie is the perfect vehicle for his awesome talents.
The story is set in ancient China, and Black voices the part of Po, a big, fat panda who’s not happy about working in the family noodle-making business. He’d rather fight alongside the legendary Furious Five stars of the Kung Fu world: Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey , Mantis (Seth Rogen),Viper (Lucy Liu), and Crane (David Cross).
Through a weird twist of fate, Po is chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy — protect the valley where he lives from the vicious snow leopard Tai Lung (Ian McShane). But how can a big, fat panda be expected to take on such a job? He’s none of the things required of such a hero — agile, mentally focused, and lighting fast. Instead, he’s plump and lazy and can barely move through the family’s noodle restaurant without knocking things over.

More after the jump…

But Po is enthusiastic and eager to learn, so he travels to a temple in the mountains and is taken — albeit reluctantly — under the wings of a Kung Fu guru, Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman).
The training trudges along until Shifu realizes that he’ll have to meet Po on his own level. He sets up a session whereby Po is rewarded with dumplings for his feats. Pretty soon, Po is gaining the confidence and strength needed to complete his mission.
While I wouldn’t say this is the best family movie I’ve ever seen —Finding Nemo,The Incredibles still jointly hold that title — it’s still a fun movie with great characters, plenty of action and, of course, some good lessons about believing in yourself, even if all the odds are stacked against you.
It offers a positive message for kids and a good reminder for adults: Be your own hero. Don’t look outside yourself for the answer. And don’t expect someone else to make things right for you.
And even though the story is set in ancient China, it applies to anyone in any time period. Po doesn’t have any big physical transformation, but he does learn the secret to greatness: Be yourself. Simple, huh?

WHAT DOES COFFEINE DO TO YOUR BODY

Caffeine (say: ka-feen) is a natural chemical found in tea leaves, coffee beans, cacao (the stuff used to make chocolate), and cola nuts (the plant that gives cola soda its flavor). Caffeine has been in foods that humans eat and drink for hundreds of years. Today, caffeine is found in many common foods and drinks, such as coffee, tea, hot cocoa, soda, chocolate, and some medicines.

When humans drink or eat caffeine, it acts as a stimulant (say: stim-yuh-lunt). Stimulants may make us feel more awake and alert. Many people drink liquids with caffeine because they think it helps them to wake up and feel sharper. But no one needs caffeinated (say: ka-fuh-nay-ted) drinks, especially kids. The best drinks for kids are water and milk, which don't contain caffeine.

People who drink caffeine every day may start to depend on it. If regular caffeine users don't get their regular daily dose, look out! People who are used to caffeine and don't get it can develop headaches, stomachaches, and feel sleepy or grumpy all day long.

What Does Caffeine Do to Your Body?

Caffeine can cause your heart to pump faster and your breathing to quicken. You also may notice that caffeine makes you feel hyper and makes it harder to concentrate in school. Caffeine can boost a person's energy temporarily, but a lot of caffeine can also cause other, not-so-great effects:

If you drink too much caffeine at one time, it can make you feel nervous or jumpy. Your hands may shake. Too much caffeine will make it hard to fall asleep, which might mean you won't be able to pay attention in school the next day.

And too much caffeine can give you a stomachache, headache, or a racing heartbeat. In fact, kids with heart problems should not drink caffeine because it's known to affect heart rates and force the heart to work harder.

Do You Need Caffeine?

Caffeine isn't a nutrient, like calcium, so you don't need a certain amount to be healthy. The United States doesn't have guidelines about caffeine, but Canada does.

YOUR LOVE ATTITUDE...

To find your love attitude number, add your birth month and your birth datetogether. Keep reducing it until it's a single digit.

Example: January 28 1+28 == 29 2+9 == 11 1+1 == 2; your love attitude number is 2. Read on below to find out what your love style is supposed to be. If your numberis:

ONE....You are charming imaginative and independent. Usually your style is ahead ofothers; you know what's in and what's way out. Sometimes you're a little too aggressive when it comes to pursuing a love interest. You have a way of drawingattention wherever you go, and this dramatic flair usually attracts thestrongest guys. Your competitive nature either draws or repels guys/gals...but those who can't handle your power aren't your types anyway. At times you can bepossessive, manipulating and demanding with your friends and in loverelationships. You like guys/gals with lots of intelligence... and knock-'em-dead good looks don't hurt either.

TWO....Your love nature is sentimental, romantic and kind. Your easygoing, mild mannerallows almost everyone to feel very comfortable with you - especially shy guys/gals. Your modesty and tact enable you to get along easily with both sexes. You are a natural peacemaker and can be very persuasive with words, which helpsyou to gain the respect of your classmates. You can also be too sensitive at times, and your greatest drawback is a lack of confidence to stand up foryourself in conflict. Your favorite type of guy/gal is gentle, affectionate, onewho is also strong and playful. A great sense of humor is also a must. A guy/gal who loves to listen to music and dance should rank high on your list offavorites, too.

THREE......You are imaginative, fun-loving, thrill-seeking and expressive. You're socharming that you attract many friends and you are almost never lacking guys/gals. In your earlier years, you may be totally shy and self-conscious, butyou'll lose those qualities in the high-school years. You can be sort of vain oreven a bit of a show-off when you get caught up in exciting events in your life, but you usually redeem yourself in some playful way before you lose a friend.Jealousy shows its ugly head sometimes, but generally you aren't affected by itunless your guy/gal tries to provoke it. In the guy/gal department, you prefer the athletic or artistic types. You're in absolute heaven when you find both ofthose qualities in the same guy/gal. When you're looking for love, a guy/gal whocan make you laugh scores points, big time!

FOUR....You tend to be loyal, dedicated and good hearted. You're one of the mostdiligent students when you really try, and you tend to make your schoolwork a priority. You also express those same qualities in your love relationship. Noone is more faithful and trusting than you. In fact, those tendencies can be alittle negative in your romantic life. You may sometimes hang on too long to a guy/gal who doesn't give you the respect and love you deserve. You can bestubborn and a bit of a troublemaker if the mood strikes you but you can usuallydig yourself out of that hole just in time to stay out of major trouble. You usually fall for extremes when choosing a love mate - he/she may be a show-offor a teacher's pet. Whatever the type, it helps if he/she is good-looking, too,but that's not a major consideration for you.

FIVE.......Your love attitude is adventurous, charismatic and spontaneous. You’re creative and adaptable, and you can come up with the most exciting and sometimes daringthings to do. Your quick intelligence and way with words help get you out of theproblems that come with being flirtatious and playing hard to get. You need to pay close attention to your personal values because you love to try new anddifferent things and easily go along with the crowd and the consequences can putextra strain on your relationship with a boy/girl. You like guys/gals who have great bodies and good looks, along with exceptional brain and high grades. Ithelps if they are highly athletic or involved in as many activities as you, otherwise you might get bored! Variety is the key to your love attitude number.

SIX............You are warm, loving, devoted and affectionate. Your outgoing, thoughtful nature attracts many girlfriends/boyfriends to you and usually some of the nicestguys/gals too. Because of your need to care, you can end up in a relationshipthat requires too much care taking to make it balanced. Since home and family play important roles in your life, you are unlikely to be attracted to guys/galswho your parents wouldn't like. Sometimes you have a slight jealous streak...but it doesn't last long. Some people with this love attitude number are prone to making harsh judgements of others, especially when others don't share yourset of values. You are especially attracted to the good looking,boy/girl-next-door type who is smart as well as a gentle man/woman.

SEVEN........Your love nature is thoughtful, poetic, mystical and mysterious. A few peoplewith love attitude number seven are class clowns, and they usually attractguys/gals who like to be given a hard time. But most of you are the quiet, reserved types who dislike calling attention to yourself. Your type generally attracts guys who feel the same way you do. Your refined, independent andsecretive nature is very alluring to certain guys/gals. At times you can also besomewhat fault finding and a little demanding in your love relationship and with friends. You are mostly attracted to guys/gals who aren't like all the rest; aloner easily attracts you. And, if he/she reads a lot and enjoys learning,he/she is especially perfect for you.

EIGHT.......Your love attitude is confident, powerful and exciting. This number usuallymakes for a very conscientious student, someone who puts schoolwork ahead of asocial life. However, you also enjoy being a leader among your classmates andwill seek offices or other positions that enable you to use your leadership skills. Because of this, you can be somewhat intimidating to certain guys/gals.You can also be a little too intense, bossy and jealous for your own good. Yourlove match is definitely someone who is smart, handsome and popular. You like quality over quantity and will usually wait until the guy/gal with the bestattributes comes along.

NINE........You have a sophisticated attitude that is also generous and considerate. Yourresponsible, charitable nature may find you attracting guys/gals who wantsomeone to confide in or who makes them feel secure. At a very young age, youdeveloped the type of personality that makes others feel safe and protected. You will carry these qualities into your adult years and, down the road, you'll be agood mom/dad because of them. On the negative side, you can be argumentative andoverly emotional, and you usually possess a temper that can make everyone run for cover. You like the kind of guy/gal who is responsible and impeccablydressed and has gorgeous eyes and a great body. Charm, wit and (of course)brilliance could make him the perfect guy/gal for you.......

Unsuccessful vs. Successful Single

’ve used the phrase “successful single” many times in here. You may be wondering what exactly makes someone a successful single. Let's look at the difference between an unsuccessful single and a successful single.

How to be an unsuccessful single:

  • See being single as a condition that needs to be cured.

  • Be on a constant lookout for that one person that is going to make everything right.

  • Put off living your life until you meet someone.

  • Believe that no matter what you do, you will wind up hurt.

  • Resign yourself to being alone and miserable the rest of your life.

  • Take on a victim mentality and there is nothing you can do about your life.

  • Believe the lie that "all the good ones are taken."

How to be a successful single:

  • Don't put your life on hold waiting for a relationship to happen.

  • Find your life's vision and purpose and live it while you are single.

  • One of the best ways to find your life partner is to be a happy, successful single person living the life that you really want.

  • Know what types of people are bad for you and avoid them.

  • Don't just wait for someone to come knocking at your door. It can be a long wait. Get out into social situations.

  • Seek out healthy choices in potential partners.

  • Always keep in mind that it only takes one.

  • Create an attractive and compelling life that someone would be eager to be a part of.

  • In other words, view being single not as a condition to be cured, but as an opportunity to be explored and lived out to its fullest.[2]

Remember, if you can't stand to be with you, how will anyone else?
If you want to be a successful single, you have to feel complete on your own.

You'll know that you are starting to become a successful single when your actions change.

Advantages to Being Single

There can be many advantages to being single if you just stop and think about it. It’s easy to say that there are no advantages to being single if all we see are the negatives. So let’s look at some of the positive aspects of being single.

More freedom and independence

Being single means you have more freedom. You answer to no one. If you’re single, you don’t have to let anyone know when you decide to go somewhere. It allows for more spontaneity in your life. If you want to take a weekend road trip, you can make that decision on the spur of the moment. Being single allows you to be your own person and really just do as you please. If you want to sit on the couch in an old T-shirt and shorts while munching on Doritos, no one will give you any flack for doing so. Being single allows you to make your own choices. (Guys, you wouldn’t have to worry about missing Monday Night Football to watch the Lifetime Movie of the Week.) Especially for men, being single forces you to do things for yourself, like cooking and cleaning. Being skilled at different things makes you a more complete, independent, well-rounded person, which is a great quality to have, and one that will be noticed if you decide to seek a relationship later on.

More control over your time

We live in a busy society. You probably hear people complaining that they never have enough time, all while scribbling their plans for the next three months into their Palm Pilot. These people probably aren’t single. When you’re single, you may have more time for yourself and things that you like to do. You can set your own schedule. Being single may give you more time for hobbies, relaxation, being with friends and family, and so on. Being single gives you more time to better yourself. You can use the extra time to work on your career, volunteer in your community, or take classes for job advancement or just for personal enrichment. Relationships and marriages especially require a significant amount of time, as anyone who is married or in a relationship will tell you. So, doesn’t it stand to reason to take advantage of any extra time while you still have it?

More control over your money

In addition to time, relationships also require money, and a lot of it. Being single gives you full financial freedom. You will be in control of where every dollar you spend goes. Guys, think of the money you’ll save by not having to pay for overpriced dinners and movies, and buying all kinds of presents for birthdays, Valentine's Day, Christmas, and the 11-week anniversary of the third date. Being single allows you to spend money that you have on yourself with no guilt. Men, that means you can get that 42-inch high definition flat screen TV that you saw at Best Buy without getting an earful later. Ladies, you can treat yourself to that piece of jewelry or new outfit without having to use the Jaws of Life to get the Visa card out of a husband’s wallet. (Note that being single is not an excuse to be irresponsible with your money. Single or not, you still need to make responsible financial decisions.) Being single may also make it easier to plan for saving money for the future and for unforeseen circumstances.

Not having to tolerate another’s annoying habits

Let’s face it – all of us have quirks about ourselves that someone else finds annoying. Being single frees you from this issue. A single person doesn’t have to listen to someone snore all night while hogging the blankets. Guys, you wouldn’t have to worry about finding a fuzzy toilet seat cover or pink shower curtain in your bathroom. Ladies, you wouldn’t have to constantly nag someone to take care of the dishes piling up in the sink or take out the trash. Being single allows you to give your patience a rest and live in a non-frustrating environment. The only disgusting habits you’ll have to put up with are your own.

No emotional roller coaster rides

Being single allows you to stabilize your emotions. When a person is in a relationship, especially when it is just starting, your emotions can go completely out of whack. Your mind can go a mile a minute constantly thinking things like, “Does s/he still like me?”, “Did I say the right thing?”, “What should I do now?”, “When should I call next?” The list goes on and on. It’s enough to make a person go bonkers with all these thoughts running rampant. In addition, being single means that you won’t have to worry about going through a heart-wrenching breakup. Once you’ve become a successful single, you will appreciate being able to be emotionally relaxed.

Ability to become aware of who you are

Being single can give you a deeper awareness of who you really are - not someone as defined by a relationship. During the initial stages of a relationship, you try to make yourself look as good as possible to impress the other person, and often find yourself saying and doing things you normally wouldn’t do. Being single allows you to be yourself and develop who you really are.

These are just some of the advantages to being single. As you progress into becoming a successful single, you will find more and more advantages. Once you move past the “grass is greener on the other side” way of thinking, you will then be ready to make the most of being single.

DASAVATHARAM HAVE MANY SPECIALITIES

The much awaited 'Dasavatharam' directed by KS Ravikumar and produced by Ravichandram on the banner of Oscar Movies International, in which Kamal Hassan played 10 different characters is all set to hit the screen on June 13. Speaking on the occasion, Kamal says, 'It is not very hard to work in such films as long as we have a director who could understand our problems and give us a proper guidance. Moreover, the film had a fantastic producer who never compromised on quality. The film has music from a great musician like Himesh Reshmia.

While listening to his tunes, I could remember MS Viswanathan. At the same time, the film has the background music from a talented youngster like Devisri Prasad.'

Director KS Ravikumar says, 'Several top technicians who worked for Hollywood films like 'Titanic and Water World' worked for the movie. The White House set made by Thota Tarani, the Vishnu temple set belonging to 12th century AD, would remain highlight for the movie. We are making efforts to release the film on June 13 simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages with over 1,000 prints.'

Asin played the heroine opposite Kamal Haasan in this movie.

Enthusiastic, big and a little clumsy, Po is the biggest fan of Kung Fu around... which doesn't exactly come in handy while working every day in his family's noodle shop.

Unexpectedly chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy, Po's dreams become reality when he joins the world of Kung Fu and studies alongside his idols, the legendary Furious Five—Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper and Monkey—under the leadership of their guru, Master Shifu.

But before they know it, the vengeful and treacherous snow leopard Tai Lung is headed their way, and it's up to Po to defend everyone from the oncoming threat. Can he turn his dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master into reality? Po puts his heart—and his girth—into the task, and the unlikely hero ultimately finds that his greatest weaknesses turn out to be his greatest strengths.

THE HAPPENING.....

RELEASE DATE:13.JUNE.2008
GENRE : THRILLER
DIRECTOR : M. NIGHT SYAMALAN
STUDIO : 20TH CENTURY FOX
producer(s) : Barry Mendel, M. Night Shyamalan, Sam Mercer
SCREENPLAY : M. NIGHT SYMALAN
CAST : Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel, John Leguizamo, Betty Buckley, Frank
Collison, Ashlyn Sanchez, Spencer Breslin, Robert Bailey, Jr.

It begins with no clear warning. It seems to come out of nowhere. In a matter of minutes, episodes of strange, chilling deaths that defy reason and boggle the mind in their shocking destructiveness, erupt in major American cities. What is causing this sudden, total breakdown of human behavior? Is it some kind of new terrorist attack, an experiment gone wrong, a diabolical toxic weapon, an out-of-control virus? Is it being transmitted by air, by water.. how?

For Philadelphia high school science teacher Elliot Moore (Mark Wahlberg) what matters most is finding a way to escape the mysterious and deadly phenomenon. Though he and his wife Alma (Zooey Deschanel) are in the midst of a marital crisis, they hit the road, first by train, then by car, with Elliot's math teacher friend Julian (John Leguizamo) and his 8 year-old daughter Jess (Ashlyn Sanchez), heading for the Pennsylvania farmlands where they hope they'll be out of reach of the grisly, ever-growing attacks. Yet it soon becomes clear that no one -- and nowhere -- is safe. This terrifying, invisible killer cannot be outrun. It is only when Elliot begins to discover the true nature of what is lurking out there -- and just what has unleashed this force that threatens the future of humanity -- that he discovers a sliver of hope that his fragile family might be able to escape what is happening.

LOVE MARRIAGE VS ARRANGED MARRIAGE

Love Marriage: Resembles procedural programming language. We have some set functions like flirting, going to movies together, making long conversations on phone and then try to fit all functions to the candidate we like.

Arranged Marriage: Similar to object oriented programming approach. We first fix the candidate and then try to implement functions on her. The main object is fixed and various functions are added to supplement the main program. The functions can be added or deleted.

Love Marriage:
It is a throwaway type of prototype as client requirements rises with time thus it is a dynamic system and difficult to maintain.

Arranged Marriage:
Requirements are well defined so use of waterfall model is possible.

Love Marriage: Family system hangs because hardware called parents are not responding.

Arranged Marriage: Compatible with hardware Parents.

Love Marriage: You are the project leader so u are responsible for implementation and execution of PROJECT- married life.

Arranged Marriage:
You are a team member under project leader parents so they are responsible for successful execution of project Married life.

Love Marriage: Client expectations include exciting feature as spouse cooking food, washing clothes etc.

Arranged Marriage:
All these features are covered in the SRS as required features.

Love Marriage: Acceptance test possible you can try before you Buy.

Arranged Marriage:
Product is sold on an as is where is basis, Product once sold will not be taken back!
