But of course her Yaradi Nee Mohini is a super hit, and she reached across to the lady audiences in smaller stations through this film. It takes a lot of guts, gumption and determination to survive in a male dominated industry, and where every competitor is trying to pull her down. Nayanthara is a favourite of the trade as they say she has an opening, something which makes her heroes go green with envy. As long as she has glamour and makes the right choice of films, nothing can stop her.

She has been ruling Kollywood with a series of hit films. This year she had only one release Dasavatharam, which went on to become the year`s highest grosser. But by that time Asin had called it a day in Kollywood and moved over to the greener pastures in Bollywood. At the moment her thoughts are only on Aamir Khan`s Ghajani releasing on Christmas day. Her big budget Bheema, Kuruvi with her all time favourite heroes in Tamil and Bujjigadu in Telugu fell like nine pins at the box- office. Her Christmas release in Tamil Abhiyum Naanum and in Telugu King are her big hope to end the year on a high note. We are sure she would bounce back with a bang, after all her she is the biggest survivor in Kollywood!

She is the most `googled` actress in south Indian cinema, and also the common man`s `sex symbol` in Tamilnadu. She makes more moolah out of cutting ribbons and inaugurating new business ventures, and gets a queen`s ransom. This year Namitha was just second lead in flop films like Perumal, Pandi and Sandai, and also broke up with her boyfriend. Next year she will be doing heroine`s role in Jagan Mohini, Indira Vizha, Thee. Let us hope she has a better outing.

She is an actress of substance, as proved by her winning the National and Filmfare Awards in 2008 for the best actress for her outstanding and realistic performance in the 2007 pathbreaking Paruthiveeran. Priyamani may have won two of the most prestigious awards yet the actress had no hesitation in doing a glam role in a mass masala like Thotta. Watch out for her next glam role in Aarumugham where she is said to have sizzled. Her policy is to take glam and art together, which is her strength.
